HACKATHON SPECIAL 2: TRACK AND CALCULATE THE COST OF PIRACY

In this special episode of “That’s Entertainment” we are looking at another of the presentations from the recent Hackathon event we conducted with the students of The Faculty of Engineering at The University of Porto.

Team “Overcooking Spaghetti” took an interesting look at a major problem facing the film industry today: piracy. They came up with a great hypothesis that studies torrenting data to help track the realtime impact piracy can have on the illegal dissemination of one particular film, and what the daily cost can be to the industry in terms of the revenue from lost cinema ticket sales.
